| The BIG iPod touch review
The iPod touch was for me the first Apple device to come out when I eagerly awaited the release day. I wanted one as soon as Steve Jobs announced it and was disappointed to find out that I'd have to wait a few weeks for it to be released. I found the idea of an ultra-portable media player that had WiFi capability and a built-in browser a very attractive package indeed. I even made a pilgrimage to my nearest Apple store to try to pick one up when they got stock in and was upset to find when I got there that they were all sold. |

| iPod touch - Nice device, shame Apple crippled it
You might remember from a few weeks back my desire to get my hands on an iPod touch. I was so eager to get my hands on one that I made a five hour round trip to my nearest Apple store to get one only to be turned away because they were all sold out. Well, I didn't let that put me off and eventually got a couple via Amazon. Am I still as enthusiastic about the iPod touch now I've had one for a couple of weeks? Read on to find out. |

| iPod touch battery life (updated 2x)
After a fully recharge I attempted to play a 2 hour movie (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). The touch made it through about 1 hour and 50 minutes then the battery crapped out. None of these times are close to Apple's estimates and what some reviewers are indicating.

| iPhone and iPod Touch SDK coming from Apple in February
There have been rumors and dreams of an iPhone SDK for real 3rd party applications and today Steve Jobs revealed that there will be a SDK for developers in February. I think the timing of his statement was intended to try to take a bit of steam out of the Nokia touch technology announcement made yesterday. While I have hacked my iPhone and have 3rd party applications on it now, I am looking forward to official Apple support for these applications and hope developers are not too angry at some of the actions Apple has taken with iPhone updates. Luckily, the developers have been busy unbricking iPhones so everyone should be able to get their iPhones back up and running again. |

| Add/edit calendars coming to iPod touch?
While it's easy enough to fake an email like this, it makes sense that Apple would add these features to the iPod touch because they're already available on the iPhone. Unfortunately he didn't address three of the five issues in the email, specifically: full-resolution photos, disk mode and notes. |

| Will we finally see an Apple ultra-portable PC in 2008?
The rumored device that engineers are supposedly working on may use an embedded OS X operating system with a display resolution of 720×480 and be about 1.5 times the size of the iPhone/iPod Touch. I think if Jobs is planning to roll something this major out in 2008 then we should see it revealed at MacWorld in January.

| My first trip to an Apple store... and I walked out empty handed!
The thing that struck me as different about the Apple store is just how much kit they have out for customers (and potential customers) to play with. I was at the store to look at iPods but even I couldn't resist having a play with an iMac (that new ultra-thin aluminum keyboard is not only a thing of beauty but it's a lot more comfortable and ergonomic than it looks) and the Mac Pro is certainly worth a look by anyone looking for an all-in-one video editing solution. If I'd been shopping on the ZDNet company credit card I'd have needed a team of Sherpas to help me carry the boxes to my car (I‘d also probably need a bigger car) but unfortunately I don't have a company credit card, which is probably a good thing all round. Anyway, I was there to look at iPods. |
